Bio
Neon Dion is a conceptual artist, creative consultant, and curator whose work spans fashion, design, and the visual arts. With a multimedia background and a career defined by range, his practice merges pop culture, art history, social commentary, and irony into striking works of contemporary expression. Curiosity and ingenuity fuel his approach, leading him to explore a wide array of mediums and theories in pursuit of new ways to communicate ideas.
His journey in art began with an early passion for clothing, textiles, and design silhouettes. That foundation evolved into pioneering work in Northwest streetwear, first through Cosmic Swagger and later through Gallery of Ambition, a hybrid art meets fashion project that pushed boundaries between visual art and wearable design. Gallery of Ambition also served as a public retail space and gallery, notably becoming the first shop to carry Tacoma’s iconic streetwear brand eTc.
Over the years, Neon has deepened his perspective by traveling widely and studying art in museums and galleries across the world including in Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, New York, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Chicago, Hawaii, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. These experiences continue to shape his creative outlook, infusing his work with a global awareness that complements his deep Northwest roots.
Today, Neon expands his practice through Neon Creative and Design, his consulting studio that provides brand strategy, visual identity, and art direction for clients seeking bold and inventive solutions. He also serves as curator of The Broadway Gallery in downtown Tacoma, an innovative art and event space that fosters creativity and community.
Neon holds a degree in Media Design and Production from Clover Park Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts from The Evergreen State College. His resume includes public art installations, exhibitions, curatorial projects, and recognition as a Foundation of Art Award nominee.
Willing to take on any project that allows him to indulge in creativity, Neon believes there are no limits to ideas or possibilities when you think in neon.
“There is no limitation in ideas or possibilities when you think in neon.”
